Chef-Owner Mike Jesso

Owner Mike Jesso began his professional culinary journey after finishing 3rd in the National Restaurant Association's chef competition. Under the national spotlight at Chicago's McCormick Place, the Joliet College culinary student was recognized on Chanel 2 News for preparing an award-winning 5-course meal.

Since 1986, Chef-Owner Jesso has had his original recipes featured in Bon Appetit and Gourmet magazines and has been recognized by Chicago Magazine and Zagat. The chef's continued emphasis on quality and variety has provided his restaurant with an established base of regulars who have enjoyed the Café Borgia experience for decades.

With his long-time creative culinary team, Chef-Owner Jesso has put Café Borgia on the map as a gathering place for Chicagoland diners. Soft spoken and not one to rest on his laurels, Mike continuously raises the bar with food and wine.
